Gearing up

We are gearing up for a fun weekend. My parents are coming tomorrow, and then we have friends coming for the ordination. I spent this afternoon baking and cleaning. And plan to bake some more tomorrow afternoon. Plan to have a lovely evening with the Children's Ministry Leadership Team who is taking us out to dinner. This has been a great group and has helped make ministry fun and painless. One of these ladies in particular has really blessed me this year. I think it meant so much because it surprised me so much.

Lisa Woodburn was the VBS Director this year. To get ready she met with Chris & I each week for weeks before the event. We really got to know her and her family quite well. And when VBS was over I was sad that we weren't having our weekly meetings anymore. She is a dedicated hard worker and has a heart full of service. I do honestly believe she would give you the shirt off her back. She is a treasure to me.

Monday starts Chris' first day of fund-raising. I am excited for him. I will be leaving town and headed to Fort Worth. I plan to visit friends, make contacts, meet with Church staff, Scrapbook, eat Chipotle, enjoy my Brothers company, scrapbook, have fun with mommies, and relax! I love my friends for sending for me to come by getting me a ticket to visit!!

Pretty fun Days ahead. Wish you were Here!!

What goes around Comes around.

Back when my friends Brian and Mason were in college, I would send them little postcards to brighten their day. One time I sent them a cute little card that read:

"Don't be afraid to go out on a limb, that is where the fruit is."

Now we are heading into a new step of faith. We are going out on that limb. We are not going dangling upside down from the limb of tree, we are going walking on it like a tight rope. We are walking boldly.

Effective January 31st, Chris will no longer be working as the Children's Minister at our church. He is going to continue to work part-time as the after-school teacher. But is going to working on our Partnership Development full-time. God is calling us at this time to get ready to go on the mission field. Sure we don't have all the answers, but who does? We don't know where we live come May 31st. But we do know that we have ministry that we need to get to. God is telling us that we have to get to our Hospitality House. And boy are ready!

So our plans look like this:

January 31st - Chris' last day of work, and his ordination service that night.
May 15th - David's last day of school
May 31st- We have to be out of the missionary house we have been living in
June - We go to Wisconsin for Cadence's Missionary Conference!!

In between we plan to meet with people and hope to spend our summer traveling to raise support and awareness about Cadence International.

We are getting more and more supporters, and God is surely showing that we are doing the right thing, by constantly providing us with encouragement and financial blessing.

Please let us know how we can pray for you, or if you would like us to come to your town and share our hearts!
